World Vision recognizes that while the psychosocial and faith dimensions of poverty are well-established, they are often overlooked in development frameworks and interventions. To address this gap, World Vision partnered with CPAN to evaluate the impact of its faith-based Empowered Worldview (EWV) approach, which aims to overcome dependency mindsets and empower smallholder farmers living in poverty. Drawing on a literature review to develop a conceptual framework, the study empirically tested EWV within the THRIVE program in Zambia, a holistic livelihoods initiative that integrates EWV with savings for transformation, natural resource management, farming as a business, disaster risk reduction, and microfinance. The findings underscore the importance of faith-oriented and psychosocial interventions in driving empowerment and improving livelihoods.
