Through Nobo Jatra – a U.S. government-funded Resilience Food Security Activity implemented by World Vision in partnership with the Government of Bangladesh, WFP, and Winrock International – communities strengthened disaster preparedness and response. Functional Disaster Management Committees (DMCs) were equipped with training, systems, and technical support to implement comprehensive risk reduction plans. Youth volunteers and Village Development Committees were mobilized to lead community awareness, household preparedness, and local oversight. By building local capacity and embedding disaster risk reduction into community structures, Nobo Jatra helps ensure sustainable, community-led resilience.
