Global efforts to end child marriage — driven by government commitments and collaboration with civil society, communities of faith, and children themselves — have led to measurable progress, including the prevention of 25 million marriages over the past decade. Despite this, 12 million girls are still married each year, and current efforts remain too slow to meet SDG targets. World Vision, working alongside partners, is addressing both the symptoms and root causes of child marriage through education, advocacy, legal reform, and community engagement. Learnings from field offices underscore the importance of locally driven, context-specific solutions and the need to strengthen coordination among formal and informal systems to protect girls and accelerate lasting change.
