This document provides guidance on integrating Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI)–transformative, faith-based interventions into development work. It offers practical strategies for applying a faith lens to promote GEDSI across programming sectors, and vice versa. The intersection of faith and GEDSI can have complex effects, sometimes supporting inclusion and, in other cases, reinforcing inequality and exclusion. Without intentionally addressing these dynamics, interventions may inadvertently create barriers to access, participation, decision-making, and well-being for the most vulnerable, particularly women and girls, limiting their ability to contribute to and benefit from development, recovery, and peace initiatives.
This reference guide supports sector teams in integrating GEDSI and faith into program analysis and priority-setting to ensure equitable and inclusive access, participation, and decision-making.
