Twelve years into the Syrian crisis, humanitarian needs remain at record levels across Syria and neighboring host countries. With 6.9 million internally displaced people, Syria continues to endure the world’s largest displacement crisis, while millions more have fled to countries like Türkiye, Lebanon, and Jordan — placing intense strain on regional resources. Despite immense suffering, especially among children, international funding is steadily declining, and a political resolution remains out of reach. World Vision has been responding to the crisis since 2013, supporting Syrian children’s most urgent needs while amplifying their voices. The long-term cost of war — including over US$1.2 trillion in lost GDP and millions of children out of school or at risk of child marriage — has devastated education, healthcare, and hope. The February 2023 earthquakes added another layer of trauma and displacement, especially in Northwest Syria, where aid remains scarce and children are once again at risk of being forgotten.
