Strengthening Survivor-Centered GBV Response Systems in Fragile Contexts:
Evidence from Referral Pathways in Twic and Gogrial West, South Sudan

Join World Vision and partners during Global Evaluation Week 2026 to explore new evidence on strengthening gender-based violence (GBV) response systems in fragile settings.

This session will share findings from a rapid assessment of GBV referral pathways conducted in Twic and Gogrial West counties, South Sudan. Drawing on household surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions, the study examines how survivors access services — and where gaps in awareness, coordination, and service delivery continue to limit effective response.

Participants will:

  • Gain insight into key barriers, including limited awareness of available services, long distances to care, and weak coordination across health, legal, psychosocial, and protection systems.
  • Discover emerging practices and practical recommendations, including strengthening coordination mechanisms, expanding access at the community level, and investing in survivor-centered approaches.

Designed for donors, practitioners, and policymakers, this event offers evidence-based lessons to support more accessible, coordinated, and effective GBV response systems in fragile and conflict-affected contexts.
