World Vision contributed to the Social Norms Atlas by sharing evidence and learnings from our gender-transformative and faith-engaged programming to address harmful social norms that drive violence against children and gender inequality. Our contribution draws on years of experience working alongside communities to shift beliefs and behaviors — particularly around child marriage, corporal punishment, and gender-based violence.
Through initiatives like Channels of Hope, Safe and Nurturing Schools, and our It Takes a World campaign, World Vision has engaged faith leaders, parents, teachers, and youth in examining the norms that shape attitudes and actions. By fostering critical reflection and dialogue grounded in local values and faith, our programs have helped create safer, more nurturing environments for children.
The Social Norms Atlas, led by the Social Norms Learning Collaborative, brings together insights like these from around the world to support practitioners and policymakers in designing programs that effectively transform harmful social norms.
