Inclusive Markets for Communities (M4C) is World Vision’s updated core project model for economic empowerment, designed to raise incomes of marginal poor households — especially women and vulnerable groups — for the well-being of their children. Rooted in inclusive market systems development (iMSD), the model promotes win-win solutions that integrate poverty reduction, gender equality, and climate resilience. M4C equips communities with tools to improve income, financial access, ecosystem health, and agency through a combination of business skills, gender-transformative approaches, and green growth strategies. Building on earlier livelihoods models, M4C responds to rising global inequality and climate challenges by shifting from value chain development to systemic change that prioritizes inclusion, sustainability, and locally led solutions.
