This learning brief explores the Community-Based Participatory Nutrition Promotion (CPNP) approach implemented through the SPIR II project in Ethiopia. CPNP is a hands-on, community-based nutrition program that empowers caregivers to identify, prevent, and address child malnutrition using locally available foods, nutrition education, and active feeding demonstrations. Integrated with Family MUAC screening, livelihoods support, and household food production initiatives, the program strengthens both child nutrition and household resilience. Between 2023 and 2025, more than 100,000 children were screened, approximately 35,000 were enrolled in CPNP sessions, and more than 94% of participating children achieved weight gain targets. Follow-up results showed sustained improvements in nutritional status, demonstrating the effectiveness of combining community-led nutrition rehabilitation with broader resilience-building efforts.
