Catch-Up Program (CUP) is a community-based approach designed to support children in low- and middle-income countries who are most at risk of learning poverty — especially in crisis-affected contexts linked to climate and conflict. Without targeted support, millions of children struggle to return to school or catch up on disrupted learning. CUP mobilizes communities to deliver safe, inclusive, play-based learning clubs that focus on foundational literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills. Delivered by trained facilitators and aligned with the Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE) and the World Bank’s RAPID framework, CUP strengthens partnerships with schools and protection systems to provide holistic support.
