Violence affects over 1.7 billion children globally each year, harming their health, education, and future opportunities, while also weakening families, communities, and economies. This violence often occurs in the very places children should feel safe — homes, schools, and communities. However, ending violence against children is possible. World Vision, through years of experience and our unique community engagement model, works with families, faith leaders, schools, and institutions to address the root causes of violence. Guided by the INSPIRE strategies, we promote laws, services, behavior change, and child resilience. While there is no quick fix, change is possible when efforts are collective, locally rooted, inclusive of children, and designed to scale.
