The role of faith norms in child marriage: Nepal and the Philippines

This study examines how faith influences child marriage in Nepal and the Philippines. Building on earlier research from Bangladesh and Mozambique, it explores how faith norms shape attitudes and behaviors related to child marriage, identifies key influencers within faith communities, and suggests actionable steps faith leaders and stakeholders can take to prevent child marriage. The study applied tools developed in an earlier phase and gathered data from two high-prevalence areas in each country, focusing on both Hindu and Muslim communities.
