Learning Roots is World Vision’s play-based early childhood development model for children ages 3–6, grounded in global best practices and adapted to local contexts. It engages caregivers as children’s first educators, trains teachers in inclusive, play-based methods, and strengthens community and government systems to ensure children are ready for school and lifelong learning. In Jerusalem/West Bank, the percentage of children aged 3–6 who were developmentally on track in all domains rose from 54% to 79%, and the proportion of caregivers promoting learning increased from 10% to 95%. In Afghanistan, caregiver engagement in three or more learning activities in the past week grew from 17% to 94.8%.
