After 12 years of conflict, Syrian children — especially those displaced or refugees — face serious risks including child marriage, child labor, and limited access to education. Children with disabilities experience even greater barriers and marginalization, particularly in Northwest Syria and Lebanon.
This study highlights the urgent need for inclusive education that accommodates all children, reduces protection risks, and addresses challenges like resource shortages, stigma, and inadequate facilities. Recent conflict and natural disasters have further strained education systems.
Key recommendations include improving school accessibility, providing specialized teacher training, raising community awareness, and offering psychosocial support to ensure all Syrian children, with and without disabilities, can access quality education and build resilience amid ongoing crises.
