GESI promising practice: Bangladesh New Beginnings

The Nobo Jatra (New Beginnings) project, funded by USAID Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance and implemented by World Vision Bangladesh in partnership with the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief and Winrock International (2015-2022), integrated Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) into its efforts to improve gender-equitable food security, nutrition, and resilience in vulnerable communities in southwest Bangladesh. GESI was a cross-cutting theme critical to all project activities and included a dedicated pillar focused on male engagement and youth development. This promising practice highlights the impact of male engagement activities in fostering GESI transformation within these communities.
