World Vision’s Channels of Hope for Child Protection (CoH CP) project demonstrates the transformative role faith leaders and their spouses can play in creating safer environments for children. A multi-country, longitudinal study in Guatemala, Senegal, and Uganda revealed significant shifts in attitudes and behaviors, including increased opposition to child marriage and corporal punishment, and greater willingness to report child abuse. These changes strengthened local and government efforts to protect children, showing how empowered faith communities can catalyze deep, lasting change. By building awareness, mobilizing resources, and modeling action, faith leaders and their spouses are essential partners in ending violence against children.
