In collaboration with the World Food Programme, the Ministry of Education, and other partners, World Vision implemented the Home-Grown School Feeding Program, delivering complementary literacy, WASH, and citizen engagement interventions that produced measurable improvements in learning and health outcomes.

The project strengthened early learning environments, built teacher and school leadership capacity, and reached over 118,000 learners with quality literacy support, evidenced by an improvement in reading comprehension from 57.9% at baseline to 70.4% at endline. Complementary WASH investments expanded access to safe water, improved hygiene infrastructure and behaviors, and significantly increased the proportion of students practicing key health and hygiene behaviors from 9.2% to 50.2% as per the final evaluation report. Overall, the program demonstrates a strong impact in improving educational outcomes while integrating nutrition, health, and education systems for lasting change.
