The Deux Oeufs study is the first randomized controlled trial designed to evaluate the effects of daily maternal egg consumption during pregnancy on child nutrition and development outcomes. Conducted in Rwanda, the study will compare women who consume two eggs per day during pregnancy with those receiving standard care, measuring impacts on birth outcomes, infant growth, maternal health, and early childhood development. The findings aim to inform policies and programs seeking to reduce malnutrition and improve outcomes during the critical first 1,000 days of life.
