Research shows that when faith communities are engaged and empowered, they drive meaningful change for children. World Vision’s Channels of Hope for Child Protection (CoH CP) project catalyzes this transformation by equipping religious leaders and their spouses with knowledge, tools, and theological grounding to address violence against children. A multi-country longitudinal study in Guatemala, Senegal, and Uganda demonstrated the model’s effectiveness: up to 94% of participants took action on child protection after the workshops. The CoH CP methodology fosters lasting change by cascading new attitudes and behaviors from faith leaders through CHAT groups and into the broader community, creating protective environments where children can thrive.
