This report presents findings from a community co-created Social and Behavior Change (SBC) intervention in the Nkolndongo District of Cameroon, funded by The Pfizer Foundation. The goal was to increase routine immunization among zero-dose and under-immunized children. Utilizing the WHO Behavioral and Social Drivers (BeSD) framework, the project explored how video-led messaging and peer-to-peer support from trained Parent Champions influenced caregiver decision-making across various groups. The intervention significantly boosted vaccine uptake — vaccinating 728 children — by combining emotional storytelling, reliable community dialogue, and practical support delivered directly to caregivers. The insights revealed distinct variations in how mothers, fathers, grandparents, and extended family members perceive and experience vaccination, emphasizing the need for tailored communication and culturally grounded strategies. The project underscores the importance of community-led design, trusted messengers, and people-centered approaches in overcoming persistent barriers to immunization and supporting national efforts to reach zero-dose and under-immunized children.
